Our First Home – Mila + Ilya

Is it possible for home to be a person and not a place?

I have known Ilya for a few years now. He is a part of my own love story with Adam. They went to college together at Bucknell. When Adam and I first started dating, we met Ilya for drinks in Philadelphia after knowing each other for maybe 2 or 3 weeks. Ilya’s watched our relationship grown from the very beginning and I feel so lucky to watch his love with Mila grow as they start their life together.

Adam and I met Ilya and Mila for brunch earlier this year and I was immediately smitten with her. Her smile, her gorgeous hair, (I mean COME ON), and the way she looks at Ilya – she’s magnetic. Mila and Ilya are starting their lives together in their new home so it seemed fitting we started their engagement session there. They have an incredible sculpture at their front door that Ilya’s father made many years ago that I had to photograph. Mila showed me their garden they started this summer. They wanted their session to reflect their home and their neighborhood near New Hope. Some of the places they go together on dates, their walks to local restaurants, and their own front yard. All of the little things that are a part of their love story and it’s only the beginning.
