In keeping with this crazy 70 degree weather we’ve been having on the East Coast in December, I figured now was the best time to do a blog post of Meg and Brandon’s wedding. This was the day when Hurricane Joaquin decided to hit the New Jersey shore. Naturally, I’ve done a million weddings in all sorts of weather, locations, etc.; that’s part of any wedding day! And sometimes a hurricane hits on your wedding day when it just so happens to be right next to the beach and you just go with it! So that’s what Meg and Brandon did.
I’m glad to say the weather didn’t really affect much for their beach wedding! We were going to have them see each other for the first time on the beach and then decided the 30mph wind wasn’t working with us so we kept them safe inside. Once the wind died down Meg and Brandon were all for going anywhere for photos, flooding or not! Streets were flooded, roads closed, to be honest, I wasn’t sure Zach and I would be able to make it home at the end of the night haha.
The ceremony and reception were held at the Windrift Hotel in Avalon, NJ. Cocktails, dinner, hurricane, family, friends and one epic sing along of “That’s Amore,” made this one amazing wedding day and everything I could hope for for this awesome couple. Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain! <3
