It is always extra special to me when old friends ask me to photograph their weddings! I have known Bethan for many years now, way back when I was 18 and just figuring out that THIS is what I wanted to do with my life. Make something meaningful and beautiful. And creating it with friends. The moment I arrived to Bethan’s room where she was getting ready, her bridesmaids and family all sang happy birthday to me and gave me a bottle of champagne! I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my 30th Birthday than with friends on their wedding day ;) Bethan and Rob were married a few weeks ago at Knowlton Mansion in Philadelphia. Every aspect of the wedding was vintage inspired, from the dress, the vintage heirloom jewelry, the family photos, all of it. I’m a sucker for nostalgia in any form and every little detail was precious to Bethan or Rob in some way. Knowlton Mansion is such a great location for this type of wedding; so many little rooms in the old house to explore and great light hiding in every corner. The ceremony was held outside under a pergola draped with mason jars and chiffon. Family and friends traveled from all over the world; Bethan’s family is from Britain and some of their Welsh traditions were incorporated into the decor, including the horseshoe on her bouquet. Giggles were shared during their vows, knowing that it was official, they were now husband and wife. The evening was filled with heartfelt toasts to the newlyweds, dancing, merriment, and all the love their hearts and hands could hold!
